CTC is what you cost your employer. This works out what lands in your account each month once PF, gratuity, professional tax and income tax come out.
I know my CTC as
Look at your slip. Most companies set basic between 40% and 50%.
PF is worked out on
12% either way, but of different amounts. Plenty of employers stop at the statutory wage of ₹15,000 a month, which caps PF at ₹1,800. Your slip will say.
Set by your state, not the centre. Around ₹2,400 in Karnataka and Maharashtra, nil in Delhi, Haryana and a few others.
Tax regime
Slabs for tax year 2026-27 (April 2026 to March 2027), last checked 10 Oct 2026. For someone under 60, on salary income.

What this assumes
Assumes basic pay is the share you set, PF at 12% on both sides, and gratuity at 4.81% of basic. PF can be worked out on your whole basic or capped at the ₹15,000 statutory wage, and professional tax is set by your state, so both are yours to set. Your slip may split things differently, so treat it as close rather than exact.
